He was very much into history, Georgia history. His master's degree was in history. He will definitely be missed in Georgia. Also a board member and trustee of the Georgia Historical society and and American Battlefield Trust to name a few.

Coach Dooley was a graduate of Auburn University and a Marine Corps officer. I wonder if he explored the ACW history in Virginia during his training at the Marine Corps base in Quantico VA?
