Re: to lighten things up a bit,,, you HAVE to see this to believe it.
Comrades,
You need to see ALL of this feller's listings. If this was a yuck, then he's hit it too close to the mark:)
There's a leather frock coat, and a vest, and check out all those nifty accoutrements made from handbags and camera bags and Lord knows what else.
He must have a dozen listing similar in content to this one.

Before the start of the Hunley funeral procession, there was an announcement on the loudspeaker regarding "The Confederate Motorcycle Riders." I wasn't sure what a CMR member would wear. Now, unfortunatley, I know.Neal W. Sexton

Re: to lighten things up a bit,,, you HAVE to see this to believe it.
Words fail me, but the text from eBay for that item is good enough to induce fits of laughter:
"This is a great looking Confederate Texas Calvary reenactment uniform with 6 pieces. It is made for a man who is about 5'10" to 6' and weighs 200-220 pounds. It includes an Ultra Suede butternut jacket with black stripes and facing, size X-large. It has CSA buttons from the Waterbury Co. The shirt is a size large and has red suspenders. The pants have a 42" waist and a 31" length, a back vent and black stripes, the black slouch hat is a size 7 3/4. There is also a brown belt (46") with a CSA buckle and a haversack. Please make sure to check the measurements we give, sizes can vary greatly. Overall it is in quite good condition, however, this is a vintage item and might show some wear or general usage."
For years I have been meaning to ask Ben Tart for the correct butternut dye mordant for Ultra Suede, but just haven't gotten around to it quite yet. :sarcastic
Thanks for the laugh.

Re: Really bad kits?
"all those nifty accoutrements made from handbags and camera bags"
Sounds like a guy that approached a small group of us at a fest I did last year.
Guy came strolling into our camp, had a Wal-Mart Hawken and an old camera box for his cartridge box, did have a borrowed uniform (but was wearing tennis shoes, they were black though). Wanted to know if he could fall in with us, took a lot of effort to not laugh at the guy, we suggested he go over and see the dismounted Cav, they took him in, lol! Really hard for me to believe these guys still exist in this day and age! Many of the guys at this event were bad but he was the absolute worst.Robert Swartz

What's with his fixation on Texas cavalry?
This one's worse than the one you posted, Bob. In this exceptional deal, he's throwing in a real wool blanket.Silas Tackitt,

I'm sure he made his wife very angry when he cut the tassles of of her curtain pulls to finish the cavalry officers "sash". :teeth_smi
I guess the worst part is that some of his items actually have bids.

Oh my! This individual really has too much time on his hands.
He proves that living in the backwoods of the world, possessing a certain level of ingenuity, beer made from fermented and poisonous berries and a used copy of the Civil War Catalogue, really is a dangerous combo.
What this persona lacks in taste and common sense, he makes up in excellent bargains!Pvt. Christian Steincke

And to top it off the kit is being displayed on a female mannequin with a fake mustache. :sarcastic When will this "women in the ranks" stuff stop!! It's probably to honor those valiant women mannequins who disguised themselves as male mannequins to serve in the war.Michael Comer

Ok, the more I look through this guys stuff the sillier it gets.
This one looks as though it still has a thrift store tag attached to the sleeve. I can't quite tell if it came from Savers or Value Village but it deffinately looks like one of their tags. :wink_smilTroy Groves "AZReenactor"
