  • Bayonet Drills Manuals and their Prominence

Authentic community, I have been asked to write an article or make a video on Civil War bayonet drill.

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me start to find out which bayonet drill manuals were the most prominent.
I know it is in the hobby generally taken that McClellan's manual from 1852 was the standard. Was that still true in 1861?
Note: Also looking at Silas' link to Kelton's manual.

And what about the Confederates? Did they stick with the US manual, have someone write a new manual, or at least copy the existing manual?
Note: Also looking at Silas' link to Cary's skirmisher and bayonet manual.

    Thanks for your help!
