If your AOL Screenname is listed here on the AC in your profile, I suggest you change your password. I don't know how they are being hacked, but they are/were.

Re: I suggest changing your AOL passwords
Instant Message Icons have been turned off so they will no longer show up in the Member List or in a users profile. If you want someone's instant message info, send them a PM or an email and ask for it.
It's a shame we have to turn features off due one or two bad apples. Maybe when neglectful parents start to take responsibility for their 13 year olds, we can turn it back on.
Parenting isn't just a job-title, it's an active responsibility. It's always amazed me that you have to be 16 to drive, 18 to smoke, 21 to drink and 35 to be President... but anyone can be a parent. And it staggers me how parents will blame anyone and everyone within earshot for their children's short-comings, except of course themselves.
Hey here's a shout-out to the STEBBINS-family, spend some time monitoring what your kid does on the internet. What you don't know could land you in court.
Pardon the social commentary... membership priveledge I guess.Paul Calloway

Re: I suggest changing your AOL passwords
CR member Bill Woodhams reported this morning that his AOL IM screennames have been hacked into. On another forum Charles Heath noted that he had a very weird IM with one of Bill Woodhams's AOL IM screennames last night, so it's apparent to me that Stebbins is out there hacking away.
It's good that Paul turned off the AOL IM stuff on the user profiles on the forum, but fact is Stebbins already has most of us on his buddy list. Everyone should be aware that this kid is on the loose hacking away. If you find it's happened to you, then I suggest immediately reporting it to your local police and the police department of the Village of LeRoy, NY (the hometown of Andrew Stebbins). Only by concerted action by those who have been affected by this pretty weird kid can he be stopped.

Re: I suggest changing your AOL passwords
I just got a PM from Phil today which stated that Stebbins is also signing up for other messenger services (including Yahoo) and apparently using my name (Eric Burke) to set up the accounts. That just adds another offense to his already growing identity theft list, I just wish I knew what I could do to stop it.
He's still IMing people on my old AOL sn (eBurke87) including people totally unrelated to reenacting.Eric Michael Burke

Re: I suggest changing your AOL passwords
As of this morning, he was still using Woodham's IMs. I get the impression his parents are in absentia. In any case, to belabor the obvious, this situation is not good.
