  • East Coast Units

    Howdy pards,

I have just moved out recently to Eastern Pennsylvania from the West Coast, and I am seeing if there are authentic Federal units in the E. PA/NJ/NY/MD area that someone could recommend.

Does anyone know of any Irish units in paticular?

I have been out of reenacting for just over a year or so and I am really wanting to get back into seriously, and being out here, I feel, provides many opportunities.

    Thanks y'all.

    Respectfully,

Contact Bill Cross here on the forums. His outfit is the eatern based Rowdy Pards. That's all I can think of as far as progressive eastern units.

      Don't forget about the LR!

Most of our boys range from NY to NC.

If you want an Irish home, check out the 69th NYSV, Co. A (www.69thnysv.org). We have folks from NY, NJ, CT, and PA (Gettysburg area).

Your post doesn't say if you're interesed infantry, cavalry, or artillery; those items would help folks lend you assistance.

I strongly suggest you peruse the organization contacts on the AC website as well, and screen them to pick one that sounds right for you. If you're really set on a unit with a "full time" Irish portrayal, and are into infantry, then the 69th NYSV Co. A, as suggested by Rob Carter, is probably the best "Irish" unit I know of on the East Coast. The 69th has come to a few events run by my group, the Columbia Rifles, and I've seen firsthand their quality and am eager to serve with the campaigners of the 69th NYSV Co. A at future events.

Go to the Potomac legion web site at http://www.geocities.com/potomac_legion/ there you can find the best federal units in that part of the country.
