It was a combination of moving the forum from one server to another while doing a backup simultaneously. Niether party knew the other was at work, and boom! So we'll work at restoring it as we have files with data, but don't know if we can unlock them.

Hmmm... compared to the Terrible Teething Toddler stage we're in, I'll take a 2 year reprieve, and return to peaceful pregnancy... :)
