I was wondering if anyone here has seen this book: "The Boy General: The Life and Careers of Francis Barlow" by Richard F. Welch. I came across it on amazon.com and was surprised, since I have long been interested in Barlow and wasn't aware that a biography was recently published on him. The price is pretty steep and there weren't any reviews posted, so I hesitate to purchase this book without knowing its quality. Hopefully the author lays to rest that annoyingly persistent myth of the wounded Barlow being tended to at Gettysburg by Gen. Gordon!

Re: "The Boy General"
Sir,
Thought you might be interested in this. My new copy of America's Civil War came the other day and has an article relating to Barlow and Gordon. Pick up a copy at your local newstand. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet but thought you might be interested.
