Re: Fantastic 1860's cdv of Female Photographer
I think I'm more intrigued by what she is wearing. The skirt is flat fronted which would place it post 1865ish, it is also very narrow when you get down to it. It actually kind of reminds me of an early 1870's skirt without any sort of draped overskirt. However, the skirt, jacket and white blouse combo is something you associate with younger women in the early 1860's. Anyone with better knowledge of later fashions have any idea when this image might have been taken?Maggie Halberg

Maybe she wouldn't mind giving me that tripod, then! I really need a good tripod. The camera isn't steady enough on the one I've got now!Jason R. Wickersty

Received. “How now about the fifth and sixth guns?”
Sent. “The sixth gun is the bully boy.”
Received. “Can you give it any directions to make it more bully?”
Sent. “Last shot was little to the right.”
Received. “Fearfully hot here. Several men sunstruck. Bullets whiz like fun. Have ceased firing for awhile, the guns are so hot."
