I's aiming my scathe at Landrum and Graf. If it missed and hit someone else, well, you got to be careful where you stand.

      Re: Confederate Impressions

I over-reacted and read into things I should not have. As a young gun I am protective against people's assumption that a high school student is ignorant. Oh the irony! I think the unit's guidelines leave much to be desired, and the Arliskas book and further dialogue with the regiment may clear some of these issues.

        John,
There are mean and vicious folks around, and they will jump you for asking good questions, so it is a good thing to be watching for such and to just bash back at them in an equally vicious manner, but all that said, I was, as I said, aiming at Landrum and Graf, and had I seen Doug's post, shot one his way. Good luck with your research. Also, keep in mind this is the sinks and know that what goes into the sinks stays in the sinks.

            John,
Also don't feel bad about being young and making comments in quick defense, Tom does it all the time and he's just a horribly aged 19 year old!

              Re: Confederate Impressions

My post was not in response to anyone in particular, but merely a posting of the articles and books I find particularly useful.

Good questions are just that...and good answers are available in droves. Curiosity begats improvement.

It's nothing personal, and it's not because you're young. Lately there have been way too many sub-par questions being asked by too many new people on this forum, such as what are drawers?, is this farby frock correct?, etc. Most of these questions can be answered with very little research. Take your time and look around before ou post. Use the search function and read some older posts. Your question has probably been answered before. If your unit cannot answer some of these question, you should really consider finding another unit. Remember, bieng on the AC does not make you authentic.

This is the sinks! What do you expect to find in the sinks? This is not aimed at John. I don't know John. I once defended a person asking question and was attacked and even banned from the AC. One day I will meet those folks in person and we will discuss my banishment. But this is the sinks! As I said, what goes into the sinks stays in the sinks. Doug, my comments were not actually aimed at you, but since you took it, well, duck next time.

                    Re: Confederate Impressions

Speaking of sinks, we built some grand sinks at the pickett post this year. Built them out of an old JSN machine gun emplacement. I was proud to plant my cheeks on it by gosh.:p
