Reading sivart's post about a discharge certificate brought back some memories and since there are a lot of folks that collect items on this board I thought I would throw this out.
I lost my great-grandfather's discharge certificate from the Union army about 25 years ago. It's a long story, but I would give anything to get that back. If anyone has it or has a clue I would greatly appreciate the info or the opportunity to purchase said certificate.
His name was John White. The paper did not have a numerical designation but said he was in the Green River Regiment, discharged at Clovenport, KY in 1865. His company commander was A. Moose ( great name, how could you ever forget that one).
I know it's a long shot but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Thanks,
