  • Annual Lincoln Lyceum at Gettysburg College

If anyone is going to be in the Gettysburg area this Friday I would highly suggest coming to the College campus for the Annual Lincoln Lyceum lecture.

New York Times bestselling author James Swanson will give the lecture April 13 at Gettysburg College.

The 7:30 p.m. lecture, "The Lincoln Assassination in Memory and Myth," will take place in Mara Auditorium of Masters Hall. Swanson's book, "Manhunt, The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer," will be available at the Gettysburg College Bookstore and a book signing will take place following his lecture. The event is open to the public at no charge.

Swanson, born on Lincoln's birthday, has studied and collected books, documents, art and artifacts connected with Lincoln's life and death since he was ten years old. He has written about history, the Constitution, popular culture and other subjects for a variety of publications, including the Wall Street Journal, American Heritage, Smithsonian and the Los Angeles Times. Swanson, currently an attorney, is also a member of the advisory committee of the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post a reply or contact me privately. You can also contact the office of Civil War Era Studies at 717-337-6598.
