  • Hardtack Recipe mentioned Civil War Historian

    All;
    While reading the 'From the Homefront" portion of Civil War Historian, Mr. James Owens of the 1st Minnesota mentions using, a hardcracker recipe published in a program for the 125th Antietam. I can't seem to find him or that particular recipe on the forum, through the search function, or anywhere else. The article does mention the ingredients, but not really how much of each. I would like to use this particular recipe, and any help or contact information would be great. Please shoot me a PM if you want.

    Thanks for your help in this matter.
    Kindest Regards;

    Here we are, some with whole skins, and some not so whole. Others have been left behind. For myself, I can only wonder if there is a bone left in my carcass when I think of the wholesale carnage through which I have passed. My bruises are inward.

    Looks like this same post was answered more fully over on Szabo's forum.
