It means he has good gear and is a generous person. Or at least foolish enough to trust this crowd.
There was a time awhile back where my tentage went unchaperoned to several quality events---ones where civilians were not a part of the picture.

Speaking of loaner gear, I suspect the reason it rained so much at the SCAR Shiloh NPS LH this past weekend is Grumpy Dave's chevrons were there. All it takes is a little bit of Grumpy Dave's collection to make for rain.[B]Charles Heath[/B]
