    Gulfport, Ms

Dang Dennis, it shocks me we've never met.

(At least 4 people reading this thought that comment was serious)

            Comrades,

I don't fall into the category you asked about, because I haven't actually resided in Mississippi for over 22 years, due to Uncle Sam desiring me to live else-where. However, I am VERY proud to have been born and spent my formative years in the Magnolia State.

I grew to love Civil War history during visits to Vicksburg before I was old enough to even read about the War.

Birthplace, family home, and military home of record: Beautiful Pearl, MS :)

            Mississippi Regiments ancestors served in:
            6th Miss. Inf.
            17th Miss. Inf.
            30th Miss. Inf.
            36th Miss. Inf.

Interesting. My wife's ancestor was in Co. F, 1st MS LA.

One of my ancestors, David Slay of the 36th Miss Inf, died on Juy 4, 1863 at Vicksburg.
