Please forgive me for the delay in this post as computer problems and family issues delayed me in getting it to this site. Thanks for reading.
Dear All;
I am sad to report to one and all that during the day of Fri. 13th of July, between the hours of 10 and 4, my house was broken into. I discovered this during the evening when I arrived home from dinner on Friday night.The back door (steel), was kicked repeatedly. The door held. Unfortunately, the wooden doorframe did not, as it split and shattered from the wall, allowing the thug(s), into my home. A check of the house quickly revealed 2 items missing:
1: My Musket!!!... It was the first thing that they grabbed since it was in the back laundry room directly across from the back door.
2: A "D" handle knife. A cheap little Chinese job that was a gift from a friend of mine from the Texas Ren Faire. It looks like a small cutlass.
The intruder(s), moved through the house very quickly, they completely ignored the digital cameras sitting on the table, the dvd player and didn't even go into the office where all of my computers, printers, and 2 swords were. Instead they went straight the to master bedroom and rifled through the upper shelves of the closet looking for more weapons.
The intruder(s), obviously did not know what it was that they had, as they left the cartridge box, cap box, and leathers, AND the case, (along with the bayonet), sitting in the floor next to the door. Once they figure out that it "ain't the type of weapon" that they can use, I figure it'll find it's way into a pawn shop in exchange for a quick 50 bucks.
The police already have a good idea who is behind this as a group of "individuals", (race, ages, etc will not be named), have recently moved into an apt complex about four blocks from where I live, and "suddenly" a quiet neighborhood is starting to have "problems". In fact one of the indviduals had already been arrested by the police for having stolen goods in his hand, and he spent 1 day in jail, and was released with a court date, (Like he will ever show).
To say that this has not only angered and saddened me is beyond words. I've had the musket for less than a year, and it was the same one that y'all saw me cleaning after each and every event that I attended.
I'm giving out the weapons information so that folks from the 33rd can be on the lookout since "weirder things have happened".
MUSKET: Euroarms .58 cal Enfield (Three Band), with leather sling. Serial Number # 16999
IF you come across this weapon, PLEASE CALL ME IMMEDIATELY at 317.373.7372 as I have to report it to the police and I have the case #.
Thank you for reading this and wish me luck in replacing it as now I have to figure out my budget...(again)...
