  • Source for barrel band retaining pins

Does any one know of a source that supplies retaining pins for musket barrel bands? That tiny and cheaply made post portion has popped off on a couple of these 'pins'. I've tried a little J-B weld but that didn't work too well. I don't think solder would do either. Any suggestions?

I am sure there are lots of sources that folks will chime in with...one new (at least to me) one that I discovered recently is in my backyard. VTI gun parts in Sharon, CT. I will have to look up their contact info, or I am sure you can find it on the web. The are a parts distributor for just about any repro gun from Italy.

    Take care,

      Tom,
Thanks for the suggestion. I had no luck on VTI's site. Like you said most imports are covered here. Unfortunately, they don't appear to cover '42 muskets just yet.

Look up Lodgewood Mfg. in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
