Sibley Tent Question

Gents,

I've been looking into Sibley tents and am curious what the ring at the top looked like and how it worked, and what it's purpose was in setting up the tent.

It suspends the tent. Ask Jimbo Butler for a copy of Bro. Yoder wearing same (with tent) at a Shiloh NPS LH a few years ago. You'll get plenty of ring detail, plus a sheepish farmboy grin.
