  • Hey, You Knuckleheads....

Who amongst ye is going to the Nashville CW Show and/or the annual meeting of folks who like to see what kind of necktie Admiral Duffer is wearing that same Saturday night in the same fair city?

(I'd have posted this over in the events forum, but you know what an a-hole that guy is.) :p

                    Tripp,

Truly this is the end of an era. I sure hope some of the older, wiser, and more seasoned gents have given young Herbert the sort of fatherly advice he'll need concerning those most delicate matters of matrimony.

                    I'll dispense two of these:

New Holy Days of Great Woe & Despair Should You Ever Forget Them

                    1. Her Birthday.

                    2. The Anniversary.

                    Statute of Limitations

                    1. If she screws up something or another, you'd best forget within a week.

                    2. If you screw up, she'll remember it for a bare minimum of 72 years.

(Now you know why men usually die at a younger age.)

Oh, you laugh now, but wait until one cold and stormy night when you leave the toilet seat up and she makes the legendary splashdown....

The quickest way to remember the Holy Days is to forget them once.

                      Have not done that. :D

As many of you who have seen it in person can attest, the first two days marked on the hardcopy of the EBUFU calendar (in bright red) happen to be a really important person's birthday (she who provides many kinds of pie, shrub & switchel), and a certain special date in mid-September that would otherwise be a typcial late summer day.

I wonder if anyone has explained all the strange new things young OCN Herbert will be discovering in the small room with plumbing formerly used by said batchelor chiefly for the "Morning Triad." Son, your life is about to change, and don't knock any of it over whilst toweling off.

Always remember the two most important words in the married male vocabulary: "Yes, Dear."

And all those little character quirks of hers that are so cute and endearing now? In about a year all they'll do is piss you off.

When she asks you if an item of clothing "makes her look fat?", do not EVER tell her, "No, it's your fat that makes you look fat."

Related advice: Almost any question she asks you directly will have no answer, either positive or negative, that doesn't get you into trouble.

It's not a question of whether you will "live in the doghouse". It's more a matter of how much time you will live pressed up against the back wall.

We should have six or seven fellows from Mess No. 1 at the "Big Show". Looking forward to it as always. It is becoming a year-end tradition for us.
