  • Lining Jackets - Sleeves and such

Hello all! I have been having fun with my 164th New York project! I started a new project and have hit another brick wall.

The jacket that I am making has a body and sleeve lining. I understand how to attack the lining to the body, but the sleeves are tricky. In the past I have sewn the lining into the outer shell, then whip stitched the lining to the sleeve.

How common was this technique? Did they whip stitch the lining to the sleeve of the jacket?

I was thinking about another way to do it to avoid that if possible. I would machine the lining in, but that would mean hand stitching the whole arm lining to the body lining to complete the lining. Was that done? I hope I'm being clear about my question. Thanks all!
