  • What would you like?

What would you like for Christmas?

As always, I wish for health for friends and family. After watching my Dad go through chemo, PET scans, CT scans and so forth confirmed health is the greatest gift. Dad won the fight against pain and suffereing on November 8th.

I need a new pair of boots. At Op3 one of my boots had a "come apart" and a kind Federal soldier repaired it for me.

I lost my Dad two Novembers ago to Congestive Heart Failure. In some cases good health is the best gift you can give yourself.
What I want for Christmas is the time off from work to finish my Greatcoat before my Unit's Winter Quarters event in early February.

A new Hardee Hat for my fed impression, Rome Season I and II, some cloth for personal projects and a Carriecake. Wanted one of those covered boilers Rick Bailey had at the Nashville show, but I was too slow.

I've already got it. Christmas done come.

I sat under glowing stars at old Fort Gaines, singing Christmas songs with dear friends, with the sound of wind whipped flags and waves on the rocks for accompaniment. I walked on the walls of the Fort with Dear Husband, and counted the shooting stars until weariness drove us inside to a simple bed and a low fire.

I was thinking about that today actually. Gearwise, a new CS officers jacket would be nice, as well as an I&C pack, perhaps a new sword would be nice. More to the point, a trip down to spend an evening with my Craddock nieces would be splendid.

Mine is a simple request, yet seemingly impossible:

                              More time with my family.
