    Little flimsy if you ask me. Sounds like seller is saying that since it was found in Louisiana, that's why it is 'Confederate'.... uh-huh!

    An image dealer was selling a hard image as a no-ID Confederate miltia soldier - until I showed proof that it was actually a Federal from Illinois. The price dropped by about $175-200 and guess who owns it now! (BTW, the soldier died of wounds March 1862, received at Fort Donelson.)

    Who knows, maybe the eBayer has more info and hasn't shown it yet,

      He should be able to see the buttons with a loop. May tell a story. May not.
