I let you appreciate and say myself if that corresponds to the image which you have of your French friends ;)

    Re: Lie...

    William,

Your post got me to do something I rarely if ever do, look for a Camp Chase. I would not be too upset about this, considering the magazine it was published in I would recommend just letting it go and moving on.

      William,

I agree with Jim. Take the source into account and let this one go. I marched along side you and your French comrades at BGR and I can tell you that no one feels this way about all French reenactors. You have my respect and the respect of many others. The incident at Gettysburg happened almost 10 years ago!!

      Best regards, Bill.

            Hallo!

Noone owns a monopoly on unsafe reenactors or events that they frequent.

But, I think for clarity.. that was the incident from 1998 Gettysburg 135th, where a French reenactor using an alledgely borrowed Remington revolver shot another reenactor with a live round in the neck.

I did not, and do not, think that the incidient reflected on anything other than the event and more particularly the individual.
His being French is irrelevent, IMHO.

            Ce la, est rien.

Besides, my former neighbor was French. ;) :) And my wife's best friend is a French teacher. :)

I agree with Curt, this should not reflect badly on the French.

CCG should take a bit of flak on this too, What is the point in airing 10 year old issues now? I agree with Curt, this should not reflect badly on the French, more on sloppy editorials.

                      William,

                      Respect,
