On Saturday, March 1, 2008, Kennesaw State University, located just north of Atlanta (Exit 273 on Interstate 75 North) will present a day long symposium on Nathan Bedford Forrest. This is sponsored by the university's Center for the Study of the Civil War Era and features eminent historians on the subject of Nathan Bedford Forrest. REGISTRATION CLOSES FEBRUARY 29, 2008
The Center for the Study of the Civil War Era presents the
5th Annual New Interpretations for the American Civil War Symposium,
"Nathan Bedford Forrest: Hero or Villain?"
Distinguished Speakers:
Dr. John Cimprich, Thomas More College, Author of "Ft. Pillow, A Civil War Massacre," and "Slavery's End in Tennessee 1861-1865" as well as numerous articles and papers on the civil war period.
Dr. Brian S. Wills, Professor of History at the University of Virginia's College at Wise, noted civil war historian and author of "A Battle from the Start," A Biography of Nathan Bedford Forrest.
Paul Ashdown, University of Tennessee at Knoxville, co-author "The Myth of Nathan Bedford Forrest."
Ed Caudill, University of Tennessee at Knoxville, co-author "The Myth of Nathan Bedford Forrest."
Jack Hurst, Author & Journalist, author of "Nathan Bedford Forrest, A Biography."
