Being that the most recent post about this sutler is over 2 years old, I was wondering if anything has changed with them, especially with the time it takes to fill orders. I want to order a pattern from them but I don't want to wait a year to get it.

Well not really recent, but thought I would throw my experience in. About the second week of Dec. 2006 I ordered a pattern from them and waited until July of 2007 to get it. BUT when I did send the owner a email about it she did apologize and sent me a free pattern to go along with the other one. They did include photos or the originals which was helpful.

I will say they have improved as I have had two recent experiences with them and the items shipped within a day or two of ordering. Not to mention that I received an email within an hour of placing the order in regards to some buttons I ordered - their current stock was slightly different than the particular button ordered.

I would give their service a "Greatly Improved" for items such as buttons/buckles/patterns compared to a few years ago.

If you can see them in person with things you want/need ''on hand'', that'd be ok. But I have gotten the run around as well as several others. After reading all of that, which obviously you must have. Why would you even want to take the chance? Plenty of vendors here with reputable sales to purchase goods from. You could allways take up sewing. Galla Rock acctually inspired me to do so, and with some help from close friends I am. (Just purchased a Willcox & Gibbs treadle!)

One of those friends however ordered patterns from GRM. It's been two years and still nothing!

It's been my experience that this vendor will get one over on you. . .but go ahead and order maybe they won't get you.

I have done business with Sheri a lot and have had none of these experiences at all. In fact, she has always been right on time with the items I have ordered. She told me up front that a LA Frock I ordered would be four months and it was, right on time. I have done recent business and have had answers to emails in a matter of just few hours and just a few minutes sometimes. I have heard from others of lags in times but I think she has improved dramatically beyond that. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance don't ya think?

Hey Pard! I ordered a pattern for a pair of trousers from her and I recieved the pattern about two weeks later, probably could have been sooner but i ordered with a money order. I haven't had any problems about ordering from them.

I ordered a Little Rock Frock and a Columbus Depot Jacket. Both arrived in a reasonable time. I am very happy with both.

                Hi,

I would say that they have good products, but in some instances they take a very very long time to get them to you.

I ordered a overshirt pattern from them and it got here in about two weeks. So then, I ordered an frock coat pattern about a year ago and I'm still waiting for it.

I'll agree with everyone recieving a 2nd chance. But I'm ruined on this vendor. After repeated phone calls, emails, and letters. Nothing. So that (for me) blew 2nd,3rd, 4th, and 5th chances. Do what you want but be forewarned. Sevral others here & there have gotten the post office envolved for mail fraud charges. Cross your fingers and hope that it won't be you.

                    Good Luck.

I ordered a pair of drawers from Galla Rock before Pea Ridge. I had them in less than a week and the worksmanship was good. They were quite comfortable this last weekend.

                              Re: Galla Rock Mercantile

I agree that there have been some exceptional to absolutely no response orders. I personally have ordered 8 patterns and received them all within days. Deliberately I used a credit card that I could dispute the charges with in the event of something happening. I must say though, Sheri was very helpful each time I contacted her with questions regarding the patterns/instructions. When I called and she was out "on circuit" she returned my calls asap. The research was fairly thorough, pictures of originals were included from which you could determine the correct material and aid you in visualizing some of the steps. In addition the correct form of stitching was given with a "modern" alternative. All garments that I produced using the pattern turned out wonderfully. There were no "loose ends" where you get lost and don't know what to as I have seen before.

When it comes down to it you need to consider if the quality is worth the potential wait.
If you use Galla Rock, take everyones advice and protect yourself.

                              Best of Luck,
