CWPT is currently raising funds to stop the imminent destruction of the area known as the 200 acre Morton property. This tract adjoins the the Appomattox Court House site and was the scene of some of the last action of the war. Across this land, the 7th SC Cav made a final charge against Federal units.
The tract is currently zoned for a 139 house subdivision. However, according to CWPT, if they are able to raise $50,000, they will be able to secure the land in question from destruction.
