To bring you all up to date:
On May 10th, 2008, Ft. Duffield was awarded a grant for $1,500.oo to go toward interprative signage and preservation for its earthworks, which mother nature has taken its toll on over the years.
FYI, all of Duffield's funds comes through grants and membership. They have no staff and much which is accomplished there is done on a volunterr basis and out of the volunteers wallets. The county and state provides, if little, no support what so ever.
This grant is a huge accomplishment and the $1,500.00 will be put to great use.
You all have a chance also to help further Duffield preservation efforts at the Ft. Duffield event: Buell's Pursuit in September (see Events Teir 2 section) Part of your registration fee will go towards these efforts.
