"God hasten the day when war shall cease, when slavery shall be blotted from the face of the earth, and when, instead of destruction and desolation, peace, prosperity, liberty, and virtue shall rule the earth!"--John C. Brock, Commissary Sergeant, 43d United States Colored Troops

There has been some chatter about this for a few months. I recommended to the team investigating the house that they visit the ‘Newbold-White House’ (actually built by Abraham Sanders in 1730) in Perquimans Co NC. The original footprint of the Washington associated dwelling shares very significant features with the North Carolina house.

The second image is the rear of the house facing the Perquimans River. The Washington house may have had considerable additions as opposed to the Sanders house.
