Greetings!
As you know December is around the corner. The first weekend of December is the annual Franklin Candlelight Tour of Homes. The money raised on the ticket sales goes toward the operating budget of the Historic Carter house thus helping with the preservation of that historic site.
One of the sites on the tour is St. Paul's Episcopal church located down the road from the Carter house. This church was used by the Federals as barracks during their occupation of the town of Franklin. After the bloody battle on Nov. 30, 1864, the church was used as a field hospital by the Feds until they left then used by the Confederates. The scars of war are still visible on the interior columns!
This is where YOU come in. Me and some of my friends are working on creating a hospital scene at St. Paul's for the candlelight tour. Many of you will already be in Nashville on that day (Dec 6th) for the civil war show. If youre still in town that Saturday evening and would like to help out by playing a wounded confederate in the church hospital. Please let me know.
This is a great way to protray history at an authentic site and help with the preservation of the Historic Carter House.
your humble servant,
Cliff Kelley
