  • Marmaduke's Raid

Just a reminder to all who are coming to Marmaduke's Raid that there will be a preservation raffle on Sunday as the event closes. Tickets can be purchased at registration check in. There are some very good prizes to be won, and as always the main reason of preservation. The money will go to a good cause in the preservation of Ft. Benton in Patterson.
If you are not attending this event, you can still donate to the preservation of this fort by going on to the event web site, and donating through the pay-pall account on the registration page. Thanks,

$2 per ticket. A bargain for the quality of items available. Some of which are:
      W&W:
1)Museum grade federal blouse (or item of same value).
2)JT Martin federal trousers (or item of same value)
3)Federal contract shirt (or item of same value). These items are donated by Karl Pasch.

Anna Allen is donating a pleated man's dress shirt.

A Knitted Man's neckwarmer and a knitted "stocking" cap from Deborah Hyland.

      From Don Smith of TMD
1 Cincinatti Depot US Canteen Complete
      1 US Leather Canteen Sling
1 Hughes Pendergrass & Snow Web Box Belt
      2 Plain Web Suspenders

Fred Baker is donating a confederate shirt .

Cody Mobley is donating a gourd canteen and a belt.

A tin cup from the Wisconsin Vets Museum.

Several hardcover books from Silvana Siddali

Karin Timour a pair of hand knitted socks.

Battle of Franklin DVD from Dusty Chapman.

I'm sure I'm missing someone out there that has donated items, but this is a partial list of items. If I missed a donation, please post your items.
If anyone else wishes to donate items to the preservation raffle feel free to PM me or Frank Aufmuth.
      Thanks,

An addition to the list of prizes has been offered,
A years subscription to CWH. Thank you Justin! Just one more reason to get some raffle tickets at the event!

          Friend, Robert,
Don't let us late-comers languish! Please set aside five tickets for me -- I'm not greedy, only 3 or 4 of them have to be winners -- and I'll have a ten-spot with me in the parking lot. Problem is I "probably" won't get to the marina landing until all the bully boys in blue have marched off and only mossbacks and non-Union men will be between me and the fort.
Will this be a problem? Can I buy tickets at the end of the event (assuming I don't lose the rest of my scrip/chits to the chuck-a-luck gamers or sutlery pies)?

            Hi Paul,
I can set 5 tickets aside for you, but I sure hope there is a flurry of ticket sales at the end of the event as well. I would hope we could sell more at the end before we pull the winners. What do you think Frank???
Also, did I leave anyone out who is donating goods for the raffle?
            Thanks to all,

I believe it would help a lot to also offer them after the event, pre-drawing. We have some folks coming in late and this saves the 'hold them' or 'get me some' scrambles.

              Just a suggestion.

Jay I agree with you. At the end of the event we will sell tickets just before the drawing. If you get in late and are not able to get them pre-event. You can get them at the end, pre-drawing.
