Thought I'd put this out on The A.C.
I would like to thank all the reenactors who participated in the "Skirmish at Wolcott Mill" event last weekend. Your efforts raised $919.00 for the Shepherdstown Battlefield Preservation Association. The S.B.P.A. also handed out 400 applications for membership in the S.B.P.A.. Normally 10% of these will be returned raising addtional sums and awareness of the plight of this important part of the "Antietam Campaign".
The event is held in Ray, Michigan. What's amazing is this donation was raised in area of the United States where forclousure and layoffs are a daily fact of life. Don't let anyone say that local events can't make a difference. Wolcott proves that they can!
Thanks one and all,
