After years of fundraising and hard work by all there is finally a monument honoring Kentucky Confederates who fought at Vicksburg. Just figured I would pass along the news.

Is there a monument to the many more Kentucky Union veterans of the battle? Just askin, as my ggg uncle was one of them.

From the Vicksburg Post article cited: "A monument honoring Kentucky’s Union veterans remains to be added to the park, and Wilhite said he does not know of any current fundraising efforts for one."

There is a monument there with Lincoln and Davis together, I think? I haven't seen it but they say it is nice.

GGGGrandfather was in the 8th Kentucky Mounted Infantry.
