However I am appealing to all those Pennsylvanian's in the area to stand up and go to the public hearing for Ft. Pitt on Thursday Mat 14th. It is slated to close.

    Re: Ft. Pitt

Thank you for posting this, I have worked and studied allot about the Fort Pitt area and the French and Indian war and this is a great museum and should remain open. I posted this to other Yahoo groups and other forums to help keep that period of history alive also.

I payed a visit to the Museum in March, and signed the petition to keep the Fort open.My relatives, who are Pittsburghers, had no idea that the Museum was in danger of closing. Now they're passing out petitions to help out. It's a piece of history worth saving.

The Fort Pitt museum and Bushy Run are both great places and the museum and vistor's center represent the period very well. What's crazy is that the museum underwent a major remodeling and grand reopening about 5 or so years ago. IMO compared to the Civil War, sites from the French & Indian War and Revolutionary War have suffered far more. It would be nice to see the CW community throw at least a little support their way. ~Gary
