I used the money Doug saved me and signed up my son as well.

Gang - checked with CWPT today and they estimate it will be a total of perhaps another 3-4 weeks before the 6 folks I donated for receive the info on their annual memberships. They are very busy.

I am assuming that is a good thing though right? I just completed my membership application.

Could we renew this drive this year? It would be a great way to commemorate him this month, one year after his death. It's something positive we could do annually to remember him.

Maybe we could just ask folk to renew their memberships this time of year in memory of Charles, (I wasn't expecting anyone to foot the bill) or we could target a preservation project Charles liked and ask folks to donate to that. Either way, it would be a positive way to honor him and it would give us a annual date (Heath Day) to remind us to renew.
BTW I appreciate your efforts, everyone was stunned last year. Maybe in 2010 we could get a lot of folks on the AC to make the commitment and donate. If everyone on the AC just donated $10 we could make quite a contribution to the CWPT and I think Charles would have like liked that. I remember his drive to get people to buy fence rails for Pickett's Mill back in 2003.
The site could collect the money and then forward it to the CWPT in Heath's name. I will pledge a donation this week.

I'd be willing to collect checks (checks only, no PayPal) made out to CWPT and keep track, sending them to CWPT at a predetermined time or cause with a cover letter stating it is from the AC membership in Charles's name. Would that work for people? By sending a check to me, it would make sure that the contribution would be from the AC "family". If one chooses to donate in Charles's name outside of this effort, that gets it done also.
Let me know if folks will get behind this and I'll post the details under a separate post.
Works for me...I'll renew mine. Paypal would work Dusty.
