Besides the fact they approved development on a battlefield, I guess they didn't think that the traffic around there was bad enough already!
Marietta council OK homes near battlefield

The Marietta City Council has given unanimous approval to a controversial residential development next to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.
The city council cleared the way Wednesday to allow 32 homes to be built in an area that borders the park's popular East Mountain Trail.
The density of the proposed neighborhood alarmed some neighbors and park superintendent John Cissell, who spoke at Wednesday night's meeting.
Cissell told council members he fears people visiting parts of the park trail will see the new homes in the development, taking away from the natural aesthetics of the park.
The 2,800-acre park in Cobb County features sites and artifacts from a Civil War battle in which Confederate soldiers briefly turned back Union forces marching to Atlanta.
