  • NTHP- Historic farmhouse near Antietam purchased and restored.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation activates the power of place to serve the public good, improve people’s lives, and enable a shared future.

Beautiful house, historic landscape, great people to restore it. Winning combination.

I grew up just a few miles from the battlefield and used to canoe down Antietam creek. This house always had crap in the yard, and all sorts of overgrowth. I can't believe its been restored! Thats terrific. This is a beautiful, albeit somewhat neglected side of the battlefield and its nice that it now has a reason to be visited. Its, if I remember, on the south side of the bridge, and most people prefer to visit the northern side, away from sharpsburg.
