While not a Civil War Vessel, She was commanded by George Dewey who fought with Farragut on the Mississippi during the Vicksburg Campaign. Olympia will be permenately closed in September 2010 and towed out and sunk as a reef is funds are not aquired to save her. Please see this link http://www.fotco.org/ for information.
