I sent a email to GBPA almost a month ago questioning reasoning to backing a resort/casino next to the battlefield and here was the response

Mr. Cupp:

We do appreciate you taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Like you, we initially had reservations about the proposed Mason-Dixon Resort, but after taking months to independently review the facts, we found the project does not represent a preservation issue. Our taking a positive supportive position is not something we take lightly. We are the oldest Civil War battlefield preservation association in the nation. Land we have secured represents one-third of the present day Gettysburg Battlefield. If this project would impinge upon the Battlefield, we would never support it---but it does not have such a potential effect. We looked at every aspect of this project before coming to the conclusion we did. We DO respect the opinions of others who feel otherwise.

I wish I could use this computer better because I would like to tell you what happend here in California this past week! A man won a lot of money at a Casino in Hawiian Gardens,Ca.While walking to his car to leave he was ROBBED AND KILLED! in the parking lot. With my respects.

He was actually run down with the automobile of the perp.
Casino's and their environs are such wholesome places aren't they?

I know it ! I didn't get into the details, but it was a brutal KILLING ! for nothing more than a little money won at a Casino. If it's not in Vegas and it's not in Atlantic City, then it's not a Casino in my book ! An it's definitely NOT ! a Resort.
