  • Alexander Paxton diaries donated to Washingon & Lee U.

One of my pards from our Indianapolis-based group that portrays the LHV coordinated this effort to purchase the war-time diaries of Alexander Sterrett Paxton (one of the Liberty Hall Volunteers and a veteran of First Manassas through Lee's surrender) and donate them to Washington and Lee U. I am proud to have had a (very) small part in that effort, picked up today by the Washington Post.

The diaries were handed to W&L as the group made its way to the 150th anniversary reenactment last month.

I look forward to learning more about what is in those diaries!

    Thanks!
