Greetings:
It seems there are several on this forum that are very involved and interested in battlefield preservation issues, as am I (which is how I found this forum). One thing I've noticed while searching the web is the apparent lack of a good, public forum to serve as a clearinghouse - a sort of "one stop shop" - for Civil War battlefield preservation information, both at the national and local grassroots level. That being the case, I've started one over at Yahoo!Groups, and I was hoping some of you might be interested in signing up. The quality of the list will obviously only be as good as the number of people who can send us information from their various locales, so I would be tremendously honored if some of you fine folks would share your information over there, as well.
I am in Lexington, KY, so my ear will be to the ground over here. I plan on spending the coming CWPT Park Day 2004 down at Richmond, KY.
I've been reading through the posts on these forums, and have found it fascinating. I've been a Civil War enthusiast for a long time, but have never gotten close to the campaigning/reenacting side of things since I am a woman. Which is another thread for another forum...
Anyhow, please consider joining up with me over at battlefield_net:
Sincerely,
Courtney E. Shinaberry
