I received a letter today from David Duncan of the Civil War Preservation Trust - wherein he specifically recognizes the efforts at the AC here to raise preservation dollars.
Special Announcement:
Those of you that bought a shirt should pat yourselves on the back. And if you didn't buy one and still would like to, there are several shirts left (about 16). I'll double the donation we make to the CWPT (from $5 to $10) from every shirt sold out of the remaining lot. That means the AC makes nothing on the shirts... it all goes to the CWPT.
Lets get them sold and support the CWPT!

DearMr. Calloway Paul,
On behalf of CWPT President Jim Lighthizer and the rest of the Board of Trustees, it is my pleasure to thank you - a thousand times over - for your recent extraordinarily generous $435 donation from your preservation drive. I am so grateful that you are willing to help support and continue our efforts to preserve Civil War battlefields from runaway development.
Your donation will go far in helping CWPT save another crticial piece of our nation's history, andother absolutely crucial part of a battlefield. It is my pleasure to acknowledge the part you have played in this preservation effort.
Mr. Calloway, I so appreciate your ongoing support and the support of everyone who has donated to your special preservation drive for our land purchase projects. If you will allow me to take off my "official" hat for a moment, I would like to thank you personally as a fellow individual who cares about our history and the War. You are helping to ensure that these lands will still be there into the future so that my children and grandchildren may use them as outdoor classrooms; I appreciate it. You are doing a great thing.
So, thank you once againand please remember that you are the backbone of the CWPT. Without y ou and your generosity, we could not be nearly as successful and these historic lands would succumb to the bulldozer's pitiless blade - lost forever under shopping malls, housing developments, highways and other sprawl. Thank you for holding th eline with us. You are truly making a difference!
With warmest regards, your obed't serv't,
