Civil War Interpretive Center
will open July 24
An important date for the National Park Service Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center and the Corinth area has finally been penciled in: The center will open on Saturday, July 24.
Members of the Corinth Area Tourism Promotion Council Board of Directors were informed of the date in their regular meeting Tuesday morning, and Shiloh National Military Park Superintendent Woody Harrell, who will also oversee the Corinth center at Battery Robinett, told the Daily Corinthian that preliminary planning has begun for the opening on that date.
While there have been a few construction snags, “I don’t see anything that’s a showstopper,” said Harrell.
The date leaves less than 100 days until the opening of the center.
As part of the promotional push, Interim Tourism Director Del Horton said the Tourism Council will attend the last Civil War show scheduled prior to the center’s opening in Nashville, Tenn.
