I was fortunate enough to speak there for the anniversary festival this past April. They have a great deal of enthusiasm there and their plans look great. Hopefully they get support for this as it is definitely still a relatively unknown story, especially when you think about how well known the Titanic is by comparison, even though more died on the Sultana. Throw in the fact these men not only survived combat, but Andersonville and Cahaba. They certainly deserve to have their story shared with a wider audience.Jake Koch

I did a column in Civil War News a few months ago on the Sultana and the museum. It was tied in with an excellent first person account of the disaster by a soldier in the 50th Ohio, (Erastus Winters) who found himself on board the boat that night. His memoirs are well worth reading.Craig L Barry
