SUCCESS!!!
The CWT has officially bought almost a full acre at the endangered Cold Harbor battlefield, which is soon to be transferred to the National Park Service. :D
If any of you all didnt know, I did a fundraiser back in May to raise money to donate to the CWT to buy this endangered land that was in danger of development. The fundraiser raised $655 and every cent went to Cold Harbor fund. Less than 3 months later, the land had been successfully bought!
This is a huge win for us as reenactors not only because this is one of the most endangered battlefields in the US, but also because people can go there and learn about the battle and pay respects to the thousands who lost there lives in that terrible battle.
I will be doing another fundraiser this winter and I want to double the amount we accumulated for the first one!!
If you don't wanna donate to a raffle, please do so to the CWT. Every dollar goes a long way in the long run!
