This afternoon's mail brought the Summer 2004 issue of the CWPT's Hallowed Ground . For those of you who are members, take a look at pages 28-31 and 34-35. For those of you who are not members of the CWPT - why not?
This issue contains some very nice articles on reenactors' contributions to battlefield preservation. Our own Mike "Dusty" Chapman authored one of the pieces and highlights recent preservation fundraisers orchestrated within the reenacting community. Another article focuses on Doug Cooper's recent efforts at Mansfield. There is also an article on the August 30, 1862 Battle of Lewis Ford, Va. by Todd Berkoff. Articles by two member of this forum and another recognized. Congratulations Dusty, Doug and Todd!
The CWPT also announces a new award for 2005 that will recognize reenactment groups involved in battlefield preservation.
