Greg Starbuck has kicked off a preservation raffle of the new Don Troiani print "Put the Boys In" - the VMI cadets at New Market. This raffle will run for 7 months with the winner picked by none other than Ed Bearss on Jan 12, 2005. Greg is the man behind and in front of the restoration of Sandusky Mansion in Lynchburg, VA. Please see for details at: http://www.historicsandusky.org/ Follow the directions for mail in raffle ticket donations.
Greg has asked me to conduct the paypal portion of the raffle. Like Mansfield, paypal donations can be sent to: coop2911@msn.com with "Sandusky Raffle" in the subject line. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10 and all proceeds go to Sandusky. You will receive a same day response for your donation which will include your ticket numbers. I will correspond with Greg daily to pass ticket numbers and money collected will be deposited in a stand alone savings account earning interest for eventual transfer to Greg.
Greg adds that in no way does he wish to impact the ongoing efforts for Franklin and Chancellorsville, hence the 7 month run time. He is the heart and soul behind restoring Sandusky and calling attention to the neglected campaign of 1864 that saved Lynchburg for the CSA. The beautiful print was donated personally by Don Troiani to assist Greg and the Board with fund raising efforts surrounding Lynchburg Civil War Days Jun 19-20, 2004.
Thanks much folks,
