If you build battlefields up too much, they won't come
I just returned from a visit to the Chancellorsville battlefield and am shocked at how the residents of Spotsylvania County have allowed development to consume vast sections of that unique national treasure.
Tourists, like me, come to your area to visit the fields where our ancestors fought and died, not to see housing developments. If the sprawl continues, many of us will stop coming and take our tourist dollars elsewhere, where intelligent leadership is preserving sacred treasures, not exploiting them for short-term gain.
