Found this today while browsing through Civil War News...

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield wishes to obtain ownership of the Wallis House (built 1853). The structure was saved from demolition in 2004 by Cobb County's Board of Commissioners and Georgia's Civil War Commission. The park's superintendent wishes to see the site preserved which served as the headquarters of Generals Sherman (during Kolb Farm fight)and O.O. Howard (during Kennesaw fight). However, the park also recognizes that the house needs some major restoration and rehab of utilities. For more information the contact was listed as being the Kennesaw Mountain Historical Association (Rose@kmha.org or 770-422-3696).

Gettysburg Nat'l Battlefield will begin a $4.3 million restoration to the Willis House, where Abraham Lincoln slept at David Willis' invitation when he came to deliver the Gettysburg Address. Work includes restoring the exterior, the law office of Willis, a central staircase, and the bedroom in which Lincoln stayed.

News of these events were found in The Civil War News November 2006 on pages 10 and 15 respectively.
    Sincerely,
    Emmanuel Dabney
