    June 7th, 2007, the LOC displayed a letter that the telegragh was sent from urging Gen Meade to pursue the retreating ANV after the Battle of Gettysburg. The Website is below:

    It is addressed to Gen Halleck. Sometimes I think Lincoln would have been a better Army Commander than Commander-in-Chief! The complete story is here:

    Was Gen Sherman's response upon hearing the capture and execution of 3 reporters who had followed from Atlanta, by the rebels.
