  • For What It's Worth

The Neshaminy wrap-up meeting was held on Wednesday, July 11th. All the bills have been paid and just over $5,000 dollars will be donated to various preservation organizations.

This was the 18th. annual event at Neshaminy State Park. The 19th. is scheduled for the weekend of April 25-27, 2008. Hopefully, we'll generate another $5,000 dollars in preservation funds again next year.

Neshaminy is a mainstream event, but I figure this folder is about preservation, not reenacting styles.

Bill this is great and a healthy thing to see. Do you guys set out with a project in mind every year?

      Doug,

There are five Groups who are involved with putting on Neshaminy, the 28th PVI, the 1st. BN ANV, the Del-Val Round Table, the GAR Museum, and the local Historical Society. Each group gets an equal share of the "profits" to use as they please. We also take in spectator donations that have gone to the CWPT. Over the years, funds have been used for cemetery and monument repair and maintenance; repairs to Burnside's Bridge in Antietam, and maintenance of the GAR Museum. During the period I've been involved, the single major beneficiary has been the CWPT.
