New York Military History Museum is a good reseach site

Hello, I would like to make a modest recommendation based on my own findings while doing family research.

I was able to locate my Great Great Uncle, Julius LaRue who served in the 6th New York Heavy Artillery by accessing this website;

I Found it to contain articles and letters from officers giving accounts of battles and events to loved ones as well as for newspapers. Very interesting reading!

This is the site of the New York State Military Museum. The website is very well done and allows a great deal of online access. Genealogical information is also available.

I'll second that. The website helped me in my research of my original unit. We are also having some of the original 61st NY battle flags preserved there.

I'll 'third' that. It was there that I found an up-to-then unknown image of my great-great-grandfather that the September cover is based upon.
